Peter enjoys comfortable living at Huntleigh Retirement Apartments

Huntleigh Retirement Apartments resident Peter enjoys the comfortable and independent living.

Peter enjoys his independent living at Enliven’s Huntleigh Retirement Apartments in Karori, with extra help available if needed.

Peter, a long-time Karori local, moved into his apartment more than six years ago after spotting an ad for an open home in the local paper.

“I got to the stage where I could no longer continue looking after the family property – we’d lived there for many years,” he says.

“I looked by chance in the local paper and saw there were apartments available. I came to an open home on Thursday and bought it on the Saturday. Three weeks later I moved in.”

Peter, who recently turned 95, says he is grateful he can still live independently.

“There’s a cleaner who comes in regularly and if anything needs fixing, they’re quite prompt with maintenance. It’s comfortable living.”

Huntleigh Retirement Apartments offer one- and two-bedroom living options. Each apartment includes a sunny courtyard or balcony and spacious living areas that overlook a sheltered courtyard and barbecue area.

Residents in the apartments have access to some of the great services provided by Enliven, including meals, cleaning, health recovery care and a discreet continence product delivery service.

Peter, who recently turned 95, makes his own breakfast in the mornings. He has lunch provided by Enliven in the shared dining room with other residents, and has his dinner delivered to him in the evening.

With most of the country moving back to Covid-19 Alert Level 1 recently, the regular Friday afternoon happy hour session has started back up for apartment residents, which Peter says is a nice way to meet others and catch up.

Enliven has newly renovated apartments available at Huntleigh Retirement Apartments on Karori Road, Karori. To enquire further or arrange a viewing, call sales agent Allan Davidson on 04 439 4949.
