Covid-19 update: Orange

For the last two years we’ve worked hard to keep Enliven residents and the team caring for them safe from Covid-19. We acknowledge the significant role that families and visitors have played in this. Thank you.

We know it has been a difficult time for many. We’ve done our best to balance the need to protect residents and staff with the need for residents to be able to see their family and friends.

On 29 May 2022 we received advice from the Ministry of Health that visitors to aged care homes and villages no longer need to be vaccinated. All our other Covid-19 protection measures remain in place, including:

  • A well fitted surgical or N95 mask must be worn at all times, including in your loved one’s room.
  • All visitors must sanitise, sign in and complete the declaration on arrival.
  • Visits will take place in the resident’s room or in one of our outdoor spaces if the weather is good – please avoid indoor shared spaces such as the resident lounges.
  • Maintain a 1-metre distance from others, including your loved one.
  • Do not visit if you have:
    • been identified as a close contact of someone who has tested positive for Covid-19
    • any cold, flu or Covid -19 symptoms
    • been sick in the last 48 hours.
  • Visitors with an Enliven Visitor ID (lanyard) may visit at any time, provided you are wearing your ID. Visitors without a Visitor ID must visit during visiting hours.

For residents who are going out of the home, we strongly recommend they wear a mask at all times.

Rapid antigen tests (RAT)
The need for rapid antigen testing for visitors is being decided on a home-by-home basis depending on their unique situation. For example, at a home where most residents and staff have had Covid-19 we may, temporarily, not require you to RAT. The requirement for testing could change at short notice so please don’t be offended if you are asked to test.

Temporary closure to visitors
During an outbreak of Covid-19, like any other infectious illness, we may need to temporarily close to visitors. This will allow the team to concentrate entirely on providing the best possible care and support to residents and significantly help with infection control.

If you’re unsure as to whether your Enliven home is currently open to visitors, we suggest you email the home beforehand to avoid disappointment.

Visitors to Enliven Villages
Visitors to Enliven’s Retirement Villages should keep at least a 1-metre distance from others as you move through the village. You must be wearing a mask to use any of the common areas.

A note for contractors
We are closely monitoring who is coming in and out of our homes, villages and centres. As such, please email the home manager or administrator to let them know you are coming. Please provide as much notice as possible. If at any time that we have Covid-19 cases in one of our Enliven homes, these sites will need to remain fully operational. However, only urgent and/or essential work will be carried out. As contractors, it is important that you always make contact with the home prior to arrival to check the status. The manager and/or administrator will be able to advise you on whether you’re able enter and what protocols you’ll need to follow.

All fully vaccinated visitors are welcome during reception hours when the receptionist is available to scan your Vaccine Pass. Visitors with an Enliven Visitor ID can visit any time.
