Covid-19 Update 16 November

Dear residents, families and whānau,

As you may be aware, there are confirmed Covid-19 cases in the Taranaki and Wairarapa regions.

To protect residents and staff at Chalmers Home, Kandahar Home and Kandahar Court, the homes are now operating as they did under Alert Level 3. This unfortunately means we are unable to accept visitors or volunteers for the time being.

Visits on compassionate grounds will be discussed with the affected families by the clinical team and appropriate arrangements put in place.

Kandahar Retirement Village will continue to operate following Alert Level 2 protocols, although residents are asked to please avoid visiting Kandahar Home for now.

If you have visited any of the places of interest/have been contacted by the Ministry of Health as a contact of interest and have been into any of these homes since then please make contact with the home and inform them.

Thank you for your understanding and support. We will continue to update the above based on any developments that happen.

Kia kaha. We’re in this together.
