Fidget Mats are a sensory tool for elderly experiencing dementia. The ability to fiddle with the range of items attached to the mat can calm people and alleviate stress. They have been shown to reduce the requirement for medication.
The fidget mats have a multitude of various attachments, so provide plenty of opportunity for restless hands. Lots of bright colours and textural embellishments allow sensory stimulation, bring focus, encourage calmness and can decrease anxiety. All buttons and beads have been securely attached and can be individually snipped off when they wear out. The mat can be left on the senior’s lap as they are not heavy at all.
The colours are bright and welcoming. The colour combinations have been chosen to be suitable for both men and women.
The fidget mats are 100% cotton outsides and binding. Padding between the cotton is polar fleece. This makes them machine washable but be careful to use cold water. They are not recommended to be put through a dryer.
