Woburn Home is Enliven Central’s largest home, but it doesn’t feel that way – it’s very neighbourly. That’s partly due to the friendly staff and residents and partly due to the layout.
The wings at Woburn Home are known as neighbourhoods and each ‘street’ takes a name from the Monopoly Board. For example, your room might be 4 Vine Street and you have 11 other residents in your street.
Like any family home, at Woburn Home there are lots of shared spaces, including the lounges, domestic-style kitchens, entertaining areas, the recreation room, chapel, gardens, courtyards and homely dining rooms. Residents use these spaces whenever they like, to socialise, read, do activities and host visitors. You’ll often find avid conversations happening in the shared spaces!
Residents of Woburn Home enjoy the well-appointed rooms, many of which include an ensuite bathroom, and are encouraged to make these spaces their own.
Many residents bring items such as photographs, artwork, ornaments, bed covers and even favourite pieces of furniture so they can set up their rooms just the way they like it. Some residents even move in with their pets.

We work hard to make sure the residents of Enliven’s Woburn Home can remain connected to their family and friends and maintain important community connections. Many of our residents play an active role in the running of their home – we even have residents on the interview panels for new staff.

Woburn Home and Apartments in Lower Hutt offers a full range of positive ageing services, a perfect solution for couples who need different levels of support.
Woburn Apartments, next door to Woburn Home, provides independent retirement living. Meanwhile, Woburn Home offers rest home, hospital and secure dementia care. If there comes a time apartment residents need extra support, they will have priority entry to our Woburn Home when there is availability.
Our unique and practical approach to dementia care supports us to interact with residents in a way that keeps them connected to the world around them. It often results in improvement in language, memory, self-esteem and social interactions.
We can also provide short term respite and health recovery care (subject to availability).
