Enliven’s Huntleigh Home is a warm and vibrant place to live.
Conveniently located in central Karori, the modern and stylish Huntleigh Home overlooks a sunny central courtyard and residents enjoy the easy indoor-outdoor living.
At Huntleigh Home there are lots of shared spaces, including lounges and courtyards. This is where you’ll find residents reading, socialising, hosting visitors, attending concerts and taking part in the many recreation activities on offer.
A highlight for many residents and visitors is the fabulous shop and café. Known as the Trading Post, the shop is run by residents and volunteers. You’ll often find avid conversations happening in the café. It’s a great place for an ice-cream in summer too.
The Trading Post is not the only place where residents call the shots. At Huntleigh Home residents also have plenty of input and direction when it comes to the recreation programme, visiting entertainers, the menu… the residents of Huntleigh Home even designed and had their very own flag made!

Residents of Huntleigh Home enjoy the large well-appointed rooms, many of which include an ensuite bathroom and/or kitchenette.
Elders are invited to set their room up just how they like it. We encourage residents to bring along their own familiar things that make them feel at home. Many residents bring items such as photographs, artwork, ornaments, bed covers and even favourite pieces of furniture. Some even bring along a pet!
Most rooms at Huntleigh Home are large enough to accommodate a television, stereo, a dressing table, small couch or table and/or a small fridge.
A full range of positive ageing services
As your needs change, so too can the support we provide. In Wellington, Enliven offers a full range of positive ageing services.
Huntleigh Home provides rest home and hospital level care, including short-term respite and health recovery care (subject to availability) and an engaging day activity programme. If there comes a time village residents need extra support, they will have priority entry to our Huntleigh Home when there is availability.
Neighbouring Huntleigh Retirement Apartments offers independent retirement living in modern one and two bedroom apartments.
At other Wellington locations Enliven offers secure dementia care and affordable rental units too.
