A safe, caring Day Programme that your Loved One will love
Designed to foster social connection and participation in meaningful activities, our day programme contributes to positive wellbeing for elders who live alone or with family. It is particularly beneficial for those experiencing health issues, memory loss or dementia.
It is also a practical respite option for families, giving carers a chance to take a break from day-to-day demands while offering a fun, safe space for participants to connect.
Trained diversional therapists lead the programme, delivering games, exercise, music, local outings, celebrations and shared meals. Activities are flexible and tailored to individuals and the small group.
Coombrae Centre's Day Programme runs Monday to Friday, 10am to 4:30pm, excluding public holidays, bringing participants together for companionship and fun in a safe environment.
Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea are provided, with the programme limited to 12 participants.
Stephen Prabhakaran, the Home's manager, describes it as a valuable addition to Coombrae Home, giving family members confidence that their loved one is in good hands.
"We enjoy a strong community spirit here, which our day participants are happy to be part of. Led by our exceptional diversional therapists, we truly enjoy adding warmth and meaning to our participants' days."
The approximate cost is $54 per session. Transport to and from the programme can be arranged.
Community funding is available; referrals and private payment are also welcome.
