Enliven Connect

What is Enliven Connect?

Enliven Connect is a programme designed to support people with early-stage dementia and those facing life alone or feeling disconnected from their community.

Enliven Connect works by matching volunteers with socially isolated community members. Volunteers are supported to spend regular, quality time with their ‘buddy’, supporting them to continue their everyday activities, interests and hobbies.

The Power of Companionship

Benefits for Elders

We hear of many reasons why people end up lonely, isolated or without supports – especially now that families are so geographically spread.

Memory loss, a dementia diagnosis or a cognitive impairment, anxiety, grief or mobility issues are common reasons people stop engaging in community life – these experiences can be upsetting and unnerving.

Enliven Connect was designed to bring comfort and companionship to those in our community needing connection.

This programme is offered in Lower Hutt, Wainuiomata and Stokes Valley.

Weare actively seeking funding to be able to offer this vital programme in other areas.
