Coombrae Home, Feilding
Enliven Central’s Coombrae Home is vibrant and welcoming.
Coombrae Home is well-known in the Feilding community. Here, the people are warm and friendly. There seems to be a smiling face at every corner.
At Coombrae Home we embrace Enliven’s philosophy of care. That means we will take every opportunity we can to make sure you have companionship, spontaneity, fun, meaningful activity and a sense of purpose in your life here. We will support you to maintain your connections with family, friends, and the wider community.
Just like any family home, at Coombrae Home there are lots of shared spaces, including the lounges, entertaining areas, the recreation room, gardens and the dining room. Residents use these spaces whenever they like, to socialise, read, do activities and host visitors. You’ll often find avid conversations happening in the shared spaces!
Of course, at Coombrae Home you will have your own space too.
Your room is yours to make your own. Many residents bring items such as photographs, artwork, ornaments, bed covers and even favourite pieces of furniture so they can set up their rooms just the way they like it. Some residents even move in with their pets.
Rata Haven dementia care.
Coombrae Home’s dementia cottage is known as Rātā – named after one of New Zealand’s most loved native trees. Known as New Zealand’s native Christmas trees for many, Pohutukawa and Rātā trigger memories of long summer days spent with friends and family.
At Coombrae Home, we understand that the experience of dementia can be distressing. We do all we can to support elders with dementia to remain connected to the world around them.
Our unique approach to dementia care is based on Dementia Care International’s Spark of Life philosophy. This practical approach supports us to interact with residents in a way that keeps them connected to the world around them. It often results in improvement in language, memory, self-esteem and social interactions.
A continuum of care.
With Enliven, as your needs change, so too can the support we provide.
At Coombrae Home and Village in North Street, Feilding we offer independent retirement living, rest home care and specialist dementia care. We also provide short term respite and an afternoon activity programme for elders living in their own homes.
Meanwhile in nearby Palmerston North, Brightwater Home offers hospital level care including short-term health recovery care for those with specialist medical needs.
