Description

The Safe Straw Adapter is a handy and discreet tool that makes drinking through a straw easier and safer.

This reusable adapter has a valve action which assists with sucking and reduces the risk of choking. It can be used with any normal straw and fits a variety of drinking containers such as cups and bottles.

The adapter contains a fluid chamber, one-way valve and float, which work together to limit the amount of liquid entering the straw. Each sip delivers about one teaspoon of liquid. Once the sucking action is stopped, the float sinks to the bottom and is ready to deliver another spoonful.

Two types of Safe Straw Adapters are available – the white adapter is for thin liquids, and the blue adapter is for thickened fluids.

Note

Safestraw – Instructions for Use

1. Choose the appropriate Safe Straw cylinder – white cylinder for thin liquids or blue cylinder for nectar thickened.
2. Use the provided 1/4" diameter flexi-straw, or one of your own. If straw is too long, simply cut to desired length.
3. Press straw firmly onto the tapered end of the SafeStraw cylinder. The wide end of the cylinder is the bottom.
4. Place in drink and fill the cylinder by sucking once. Suck again to begin to use.

NOTE: Between sips, the float inside of the cylinder needs to reset, or fall to the bottom of the cylinder, to allow for full volume consumption on the next sip.
Sink time of the float will vary depending on the thickness of the liquid (approximately 1-3 seconds for thin and 6-9 seconds for nectar thickened).

5. Disassemble after use and wash in hot water and soap, or the top rack of a non-industrial dishwasher.

The SafeStraw is designed for use with thin, water like liquids, or nectar thickened liquids. Use with carbonated beverages, or honey thickened will render the SafeStraw ineffective for limiting the volume of consumption.

To Disassemble:
1. Grasp pull tab on silicon valve with one hand and firmly grasp Safestraw chamber with the other.
2. By pulling the valve tab in the opposite direction of the SafeStraw chamber, separate the two pieces.
3. Remove the float from chamber.

To Assemble:
1. Insert the float, pointed side first, into the SafeStraw chamber.
2. Firmly press the valve into chamber.

To Clean:
1. Disassemble and place in the top rack of a non-industrial dishwasher

2. Wash in hot soap and water.
